And then we were three

Our boy decided to come a few days early!

Susanna went into labor around 8:30pm Thursday night. We did our darndest to get the little bugger into the world with minimal medical intervention. However, after 33 hours of labor and two solid hours of Susanna pushing, it was clear that the baby had other ideas (and a very large noggin!), so we opted for a caesarean (which was relatively quick and easy).

August Collier Stewart was born on Saturday, October 11th, at 5:22am. He was 9 lbs., 5oz., 21 inches long. He has big, beautiful blue eyes, chubby pink cheeks, and a full head of dark hair — on a head that measures 38 cm around.

Despite our utter exhaustion, we knew as soon as we laid eyes on him that it had been worth every minute. We adore him.

Baby, mom, and dad are all doing great, and are very glad to be getting a little rest.
